Dispicable Me Movie Review

Despicible Me Movie Review
Directed by Pierre Coffin, Chris Renaud, Sergio Pablos
The Good
  • Fun family movie, another good movie for the family. It seems this summer is packed full of these movies first Toy Story 3 now this
  • The minions are most likely the best part of the movie in my opinion. Anytime they show up on the screen hilarity is bound to insuse
  • Every character here like any good animated film is uniquely designed, there chracter design rightly represents there personality

The Bad

  • Some dull humor used for the adults out there
  • Its a family movie with a predictible ending and attempts at jokes that aren't that funny most of the time
  • The plot to steal the moon and Gru both fail at making me want to pay attention because I honestly don't care, the plot wasn't that amusing
  • I wanted the minions to show up more instead of seeing the main chracter Gru

3 out of 5 Shurikens

I liked the film but not enough to warrant a full movie ticket price. More like a rental for family movie night. I loved the minions and animations but the paper thin plot along with a main character that I didn't care for means its just another rental flick.

Inception Movie Review

Inception Movie Review
Directed by Christopher Nolan
The Good
  • Nothing short of mind blowing. This is one of those films that you wouldn't mind seeing twice or maybe three times just because the story is that deep. The father you go deeper into the target's mind and the more you learn about the main character's mind. Its a great way to learn about someones history.
  • All original, for once this is a total original idea. Not to bash on The Dark Knight (another great movie directed by Christopher Nolan) but for once its not a comic book based movie or another generic fantasy movie.
  • Every actor is amazing, everyone delivers in this movie with their acting skills.
  • The way the explain dream stealing and why implanting an idea in someones head is so hard is just so intriguing. Everything about the process is explained in this movie.
  • Details about how you can lose sense of the diffrence between the dream world and reality, so you need a totem to tell you if your in a dream or in reality. Such as a top that would keep spinning in the dream world but fall in reality.

The Bad

  • The characters could be fleshed out a bit more but not much of a complaint considering you won't really notice because the story moves so fast.
  • If you don't pay attention enough or go take a bathroom break too long you could be confused for the rest of the movie. Then you end up walking out of the theater wanting a refund. So PAY ATTENTION.

5 out of 5 Shurikens

This movie is excellent and I'm kind of nit picking on this movie. It really is a great film with a deep intricate plot that may be hard to keep up with but incredible once you get into it.

NINJA OF INCEPTION: Ken Wantanabe

The sleek and cool buisnessman or "The Tourist" of Inception. Ken Watanabe is actually quite an established actor having being already nominated for Best Supporting Actor in the film The Last Samurai. Along with having being nominated for Best Supporting Actor in his 1998 Japanese film Kizuna. Ken Watanabe well star in a film called Shanghai which is about the months leading up to the Pearl Harbor attack. Shanghai having being already released in China I am eagerly waiting is release stateside.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice Review

The Sorcerer's Apprentice Review

Directed by Jon Turteltaub
The Good
  • If you love special effects than boy will you love this movie. Every scene in this movie is packloaded with special effects. From flying plasma bolts to a fire breathing dragon charging through chinatown.
  • Nicholas Cage isn't that bad at acting in this movie. Though not a knockout performance considering his character isn't the most original idea, he does a pretty good job.
  • The story I would say is pretty good, aside from the whole primemerlinian mumbo jumbo they do a great job at explaining magic. How magic can be distilled into simple science like the characters can use magic because they use 100% of their brain.
  • Toby Kebbell as Drake Stone in this movie is great, he just doesn't have many scenes. Every scene he's in I loved. Drake Stone is the more relaxed evil sorceror that takes life easy as a superstar, a great character.
  • Fantasia inspired scene, thats all I need to say.

The Bad

  • Its not that deep in the lines of story or chracters just enough to avoid them from being paper thin.
  • If you hate special effects don't even bother with this movie becuase you will hate this movie most likely then.
  • Movie is a little to straight forward with close to zero twists in the story.

4 out of 5 Shurikens

This movie is one that you'll want to see in your free time and if you've seen all the hit blockbusters that week this wouldn't be that bad of a choice. If you love special effects then you should definitly check this one out.

Ninja of The Sorcerer's Apprentice: Gregory Woo

This was Gregory Woo's first film debuting as a Sun-Lok a dangerous Chinese Wizard that can control Dragons with his belt. Gregory Woo gets to use that power in an incredible action scene that rages through Chinatown. I give my fellow Ninja the best wishes and hope he gets to star in many more films to come.
